Why is the Android app not on Google Play yet?

The store listing is still being prepared. Until then the APK is the same build, signed with the same key we will publish under — so your progress carries over when we switch.

Is it really free?

Yes. All 10 cities are unlocked, there is no paywall and no in-app purchase.

Does my progress follow me between browser and app?

Only if you create a free account. Without one, progress lives on the device you played on — which is also why uninstalling the app clears it.
